LG V40 accessories: Here are the best ones you can get
LG hasn’t released any accessories made specifically for the V40 — not even cases. But it does sell many products that complement the device well including a keyboard, smartwatch, and headphones. Here are the best ones, along with a few accessories made by other manufacturers.
Best LG V40 accessories:
Editor’s note: We’ll be updating this list of the best LG V40 accessories regularly as new ones launch.
1. Anker PowerCore 10,000
The LG V40’s battery has a 3,300mAh capacity, which is far from impressive. For comparison, the Galaxy S10 Plus has roughly the same footprint as LG’s flagship but packs a much larger 4,100mAh battery. The same goes for the HUAWEI P30 Pro and quite a few other high-end phones.
On average, the battery should be good for around four to five hours of screen-on time, which isn’t enough in a lot of cases. If you’re on the road and take a lot of pictures, videos, and use GPS, opting for a power bank is the way to go. LG doesn’t sell any at this time, so you’ll have to opt for one made by a different manufacturer.
Our advice would be to get a power bank with a capacity of at least 10,000mAh, which will let you fully charge your LG V40 at least twice. At the same time, a power bank like this also isn’t too big or heavy, so you can easily carry it with you. We recommend you check out the Anker PowerCore 10,000, which you can get via the button below.
Off course, there are loads of power banks out there from other brands that will also work with your V40. Check out the best ones here, with capacities as large as 50,000mAh.
2. LG Rolly Keyboard 2
The Rolly Keyboard 2 connects to your LG V40 via Bluetooth and is great for typing long messages or various documents. It has a dock for your smartphone and a unique rollable design that makes it easy to store the keyboard as well as take it with you on the road.
The LG Rolly Keyboard 2 will boost your productivity.
LG’s keyboard comes in black and will set you back around $50. That’s not a bad price considering it went for $100 just a few months ago, and is definitelly worth it if you see yourself using it a lot and need something super portable. But if you’d rather get something even cheaper, you can check out our best Bluetooth keyboards at the link.
3. LG Tone Pro
A good pair of headphones is almost a must accessory for every smartphone. If you’re in the market for Bluetooth headphones made by LG, you have a few options to choose from. Those on a budget should consider the LG Tone Pro, which retails for around $50. They offer up to 10.5 hours of playback, allow you to take calls, and have an interesting design — the earbuds snap into the housing for a cleaner look. But if you’re not a fan, you can opt for one of the many other Bluetooth headphones out there.
You can take advantage of the V40's Quad DAC with wired headphones.
The other option is to take advantage of the V40’s Quad DAC by opting for wired headphones. LG doesn’t sell any at the moment, so you’ll have to get a pair from one of the other manufacturers like Sennheiser and Sony. Head over to our sister site Sound Guys and check out a few reviews as well as various best lists to find a pair suitable for you.
4. LG Watch W7
LG announced the Watch W7 alongside the V40. The smartwatch connects to your phone via Bluetooth and shows you the texts you received, incoming calls, and tons of other notifications. What makes it stand out is that it sports a touchscreen along with mechanical hands for hours and minutes.
It runs Wear OS, packs a 240mAh battery, and is powered by the Snapdragon Wear 2100 chipset. The display measures 1.3 inches and there’s 4GB of storage available. The watch comes with a rubberized strap and has a button on the side that’s used for placing the mechanical hands at 9 and 3 — so you can more easily read the writing on the display.
The LG Watch W7 does have a few drawbacks: it lacks NFC, GPS, and a heart-rate sensor. You can get it from Best Buy for $315. Alternatively, there are loads of other smartwatches you can pair your LG V40 with — check out the best ones here.
5. Anker PowerPort Wireless 10
The LG V40 supports Qi wireless charging, but you don’t get a charging pad in the box. You have to buy one separately, and the one we recommend is the Anker PowerPort Wireless 10. It sports a charging status indicator, has a bunch of safety features on board, and is quite affordable at just $30.
If you don’t like Anker’s charging pad for some reason, there are plenty of alternatives out there that will work just as well with your V40. Unfortunately, LG doesn’t sell any at the moment. We have a list of the best charging pads you can get your hands on, which you can check out here.
6. SanDisk microSD cards
In the US, the LG V40 comes with just 64GB of storage — a variant with 128GB is available in a few other markets. If you plan on taking loads of images with the phone’s triple camera setup and downloading a lot of Android apps, expanding the storage with a microSD card is the way to go. We recommend popping in at least a 64GB card that supports 4K video recording, like the one from SanDisk linked below — retails for around $15.

This will bring the total storage up to 128GB, which should be more than enough for most people. But if you need more, you can buy a memory card with a larger capacity — the V40 supports up to 2TB of expandable storage. Of course, there are loads of other manufacturers that also make microSD cards, a few of which you can check out here.
