Battery life continues to be an issue with smartphones, and we can’t be tethered to a wall at all times. Having an external power bank is essential to keeping your smartphone up and running without having to go hunting for outlets.
In this list of power banks, we focus on 10,000mAh portable chargers, a very convenient size for the average user. With 10,000mAh you can charge most phones 2-3 times, while keeping prices and portability at a minimum.
Note: With regards to the 10,000mAh power banks that feature USB-C ports, make sure your device is compatible before buying.
Best 10,000mAh power banks:
1. RAVPower 18W PD 10,000mAh portable charger
The RAVPower 18W PD 10,000mAh portable charger outs its highlight feature in the name — support for Power Delivery. The charger outputs up to 18W through the USB-C port, which also supports up to 18W input. That means it takes 3.5 hours to fully juice up the charger, compared to the five hours it would take if you use the micro-USB port.
The charger also features a regular-sized USB port with Quick Charge support and maximum 8W output. Best of all, the current $26.99 price firmly places RAVPower’s slim portable charger in impulse-buy territory.
2. Samsung Wireless Charger 10,000mAh
What separates the Wireless Charger from most other 10,000mAh portable chargers is right in the name: wireless charging. The battery supports up to 7.5-watt wireless fast charging output to compatible Samsung smartphones. You can also wirelessly charge other Qi-compatible smartphones and use the power bank as a wireless charging pad at home.
Costing around $37, Samsung’s Wireless Charger isn’t the cheapest option on this list. However, the wireless charging support and ensured compatibility with Samsung smartphones make it an excellent choice for most.
3. Anker PowerCore 10000 PD
Apart from being one of the smallest 10,000mAh portable batteries, the Anker PowerCore 10000 PD supports Power Delivery. That means the USB-C port can output at up to 18W. Not to be outdone, the regular USB port’s maximum output is 10W.
Even at $45.99, the PowerCore 10000 PD is a neat little portable battery. Anker is a respected name in the portable battery world, with the charger coming with an 18-month warranty.
4. Aukey 10,000mAh PD portable charger
Featuring a slim profile, the Aukey 10,000mAh PD portable charger supports 18W input and output through the USB-C port. The charger also features two regular USB ports, with one supporting Quick Charge 3.0. The other USB port outputs at 12W, while the micro-USB port supports up to 10W input.
Aukey offers a cheaper version of this portable charger, but we prefer this one over the cheaper version. Not only do you get Power Delivery, but the 10,000mAh PD portable charger is only $10 more expensive than the alternative. Seeing how this option only costs $29.99, the extra money is worth spending.
5. Zendure Slim 18W PD 10000
Living up to its name, the Zendure Slim 18W PD 10000 features a 15mm profile. Even with such a thin design, the portable charger features a USB-C Power Delivery port for input and output. That means the portable charger supports up to 18W of input and output.
Rounding out the ports are the micro-USB input port and regular USB output port. The regular USB port supports Quick Charge 3.0 and delivers a maximum output of 18W. Finally, the aluminum body of the charger is something we don’t normally see in chargers with a 10,000mAh capacity.
The durable material and high output come at a cost — $39, to be exact. Even with a relatively higher price, Zendure’s portable charger is worth the dough.
6. ZMI PowerPack 10K USB-C
Winner of a 2019 Red Dot Design Award, the ZMI PowerPack 10K USB-C features a woven fabric top and bottom. There’s also an aluminum frame that houses the regular USB, micro-USB, and USB-C ports.
The regular USB port supports Quick Charge 2.0 output, while the USB-C port supports Power Delivery output and input. That means the PowerPack 10K USB-C supports up to 18W output and input.
As if that wasn’t enough, the portable charger has a great trick up its sleeve: USB adapter mode. If you connect the PowerPack 10K USB-C to a computer, you can connect USB peripherals and use it as a portable adapter for your computer.
Given all the features and fancy exterior, the PowerPack 10K USB-C’s $28.99 asking price is very reasonable. It might be on sale from time to time, if you want to pay a bit less.
That wraps it up for the best 10,000mAh power banks out there. We’ll update this post with new options once they are released.
