Scosche MagicMount

The MagicMount kicks off our journey into car iPhone holders, but you don’t have to have the latest iPhone 12 to make it work. It comes with a small magnetic pad to slip inside your case and use any iPhone you please.

Scosche’s holder itself attaches to any flat surface inside your car, so you can set it on your dashboard, your console, or wherever else you choose. It packs swivel, rotate, and tilt adjustments, and you can rotate your phone on the four magnets for the perfect view. Perhaps best of all, the Scosche MagicMount is one of the most affordable iPhone accessories you’ll find.

Belkin MagSafe Car Vent Mount Pro

Belkin

Belkin had the distinct honor of bringing some of the first MagSafe accessories to market, and it delivered. This iPhone car holder is one such accessory, and it’s perfectly designed for Apple’s powerful iPhone 12 line. It even comes in Apple’s classic silver and white colors, in case that’s a concern of yours.

Unlike the previous Scosche holder, this model slots right into your air conditioning vent. It slightly limits your options of where to put it, but you can still position your phone vertically or horizontally. Belkin even added a cable management system in the back so you can secure your Lightning cable.

Logitech Plus Trip Vent Mount

If you like the sound of a vent mount, but you want the smallest option around, you can’t beat the Logitech Plus Trip. It’s pocket-sized at most and weighs just a fraction of a pound. Logitech’s tiny option will only set you back about $6, too.

Despite the low cost and diminutive size, Logitech’s iPhone car mount doesn’t feel cheap. It’s a solid little plug, and it can hold some pretty hefty devices. As with any vent mount, the Plus Trip can be unsteady on bumpier roads, so you’ll want to secure it the best you can. You could technically tuck a charging cable between the prongs, but it may interfere with the holder’s grip.

WixGear magnetic car iPhone holder

The WixGear magnetic mount could be Logitech’s twin, but it makes life a little easier with a two-pack. You can easily set up an iPhone holder in two different cars or give your kids a way to watch their favorite shows hands-free on a long trip. The process is almost identical to the other options, and WixGear gives you four magnetic plates for extra flexibility.

This car holder swaps a two-prong design for one with four prongs, making things easier if you have a unique vent. Of course, you’ll still want to make sure that you secure it tightly, especially on rockier adventures.

Moment Car Vent Mount with MagSafe

Our last magnetic iPhone car holder comes to us from Moment, and it’s our second MagSafe pick. While any old magnet should do the trick, Apple’s specific MagSafe options often provide the best results. You’ll need to add a case if you want to pair Moment’s mount with an older iPhone, but the iPhone 12 family should attach stress-free.

The large rubber pad won’t scuff or scratch your phone, and it looks like you can just about wrap a charging cable around the edge. Moment employs what it calls an (M)Force magnet array, which is said to rely on custom-tuned magnets for the strongest grip possible.

iOttie Easy One Touch 4 Dash and Windshield Mount

Now that we’ve switched to classic mounts, it’s tough to leave the Easy One Touch 4 off our list. iOttie just knows how to make a flexible phone holder with the best of them. The Easy One Touch 4 may not utilize the toughest plastic, but it’s sturdier than it feels at first. Most importantly, iOttie’s mount comes at a fair price that should work for just about anyone.

The design isn’t exactly subtle, so there’s no way you’ll be able to hide this car iPhone holder on your dash or windshield. It’s one of the shakier picks on rough terrain, but the arms adjust to give your phone a secure hug.

Loncaster dashboard car iPhone holder

Most of our top iPhone car mounts have followed the same formula so far, but Loncaster is here to challenge things. Its phone holder is more like a silicone tray that you can slot your phone into. That can be helpful if you need to store some change, and it also has a slot to store your charging cable.

The Loncaster iPhone holder sits right on your dashboard, which is better than hanging in your face. If you happen to make a mess of your car, you can always bath the Loncaster and set it right back up. It comes in red, black, blue, or pink, so this is your one chance to add a pop of color.

Belkin Universal Vent Mount

We’ll end this list of iPhone car holders with another Belkin pick — no magnets involved. Instead, the two arms tighten around your phone to lock it securely in place. Belkin went for aluminum arms as well, so durability shouldn’t be a problem. The solid design comes at a cost, but it’s better than cycling through a few weaker options.

Adjustable arms ensure that you can mount plenty of different phones, and the simple design is easy for anyone to use. There’s a small clip on the back for your charging cable, but you’ll want to find your sturdiest vent to ensure that no accidents can happen.
