Relaince Jio vs Airtel Prepaid plans
Adamya Sharma / Android Authority

Reliance Jio and Airtel are among India’s top carriers, offering competitive prepaid plans that often make it hard to choose one over the other. Both telecom companies keep announcing new prepaid plans to widen their customer base. Among the most wanted are their unlimited prepaid calling plans that give subscribers the freedom to make as many voice calls as they would like with no hidden or extra charges.

Airtel and Reliance Jio’s best unlimited prepaid plans range from a validity of 24 days to 365 days across different price points. However, both telcos vary their offerings by bundling various freebies along with their prepaid plans. For instance, many of Airtel’s prepaid plans come with access to streaming services. Meanwhile, most of Jio’s prepaid plans offer access to its suite of apps.

Let’s go over how the prepaid plans from Jio and Airtel compare on paper. These plans have no FUP on calling, which means subscribers can make unlimited voice calls to all networks without incurring extra charges. If you are also looking to get a new phone, below is a link to your best choices.

Airtel: Other notable prepaid plans

Airtel also offers some other notable prepaid plans that don’t directly stack up against Reliance Jio’s prepaid plans. The carrier has a plan for Rs 401 that offers you a total of 30GB of data. It’s up to you how much of it you want to use in a day. There are no daily restrictions like the prepaid plans mentioned above. The plan has a validity of 28 days and comes bundled with a free 1-year Disney Plus Hotstar VIP subscription.

Reliance Jio: Prepaid plans without daily data limits

Just like Airtel, Reliance Jio also offers some prepaid plans that are unique to its ecosystem. The company has multiple plans under its Freedom plans category that is high on data with no daily limitations.

Under the scheme, you can get a Rs 247 prepaid plan with 30-day validity, 25GB of data with no daily limit, 100 free SMS per day, and unlimited voice calling.

The other popular Jio Freedom plan costs Rs 597 and gives you a validity of 90 days, 75GB of data with no daily limits, 100 free SMS/day, and free voice calling.

Similarly, you can avail Jio’s Rs 127 plan with 12GB of data and a 15-day validity. At Rs 447, you’ll get 50GB of total data and a validity of 60 days. You can also go for the Rs 2,397 Freedom Plan and get 365GB of total data without a daily limit and 365 days of validity. All these plans offer unlimited calling and access to Jio’s apps.

You can purchase the prepaid plans from Jio and Airtel from their individual apps and websites. Airtel prepaid users can check for the new tariffs on the Airtel app, while Jio users can check the MyJio app or visit the company’s website to check for new and revised tariffs.

We will keep updating this article as and when the two Indian telcos revise their prices or offer better prepaid plans. Until then, let us know your operator of choice and the reasons for it in the comments section below.
