The best Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus rugged cases:
Editor’s note: We will update this list of the best rugged cases for the Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus as cases release.
Spigen Tough Armor
Spigen is a true leader in the case game, whether you want the toughest option around or just a slim bumper. The Tough Armor is one of the most durable cases the company makes, and it offers plenty of hybrid protection. You’ll find an internal layer of soft TPU that’s great against drops, as well as a tough polycarbonate shell to keep scratches at bay. The Spigen Tough Armor even packs a built-in kickstand to turn your Galaxy S21 Plus into a hands-free streaming machine.

Samsung rugged cover
Most OEMs tend to offer just the basics in terms of cases, but Samsung has nearly 10 first-party options up for sale. This is the most durable option for your Galaxy S21 Plus, the Samsung rugged cover. It almost resembles a heavy-duty suitcase, with raised ridges running along the length of the back panel. You can also choose from black or silver finishes, and the case features a folding kickstand that you can position at two different angles.
UAG Monarch Galaxy S21 Plus rugged case
It’s tough to pick a top rugged case from UAG when all of the company’s options come with MIL-STD 810G ratings. However, the Monarch is among the company’s most popular, and we’re suckers for some carbon fiber. You can choose from a few different finishes, though they all feature the same durable frame around the outside. UAG even added extra reinforcement in all four corners just in case you should drop your Galaxy S21 Plus.
Poetic Spartan Galaxy S21 Plus rugged case
The Poetic Spartan looks the most prepared to take a drop or a scratch out of all of the cases on our list. It just so happens to be the only one of the bunch with a built-in screen protector, and the hybrid design promises full 360-degree protection. Poetic added a folding kickstand on the back so you can binge your favorite shows, but the Spartan is one of the bulkier cases you can get. It’s thin enough to support wireless charging, but you might struggle to fit this beast in your pocket.

Otterbox makes its first appearance on our list of the best Samsung Galaxy S21 rugged cases, and the Defender is no slouch. The company’s flagship case has been around for years, and it’s only gotten better with age. Otterbox tests its cases to nearly four times the military standard, so you know it can take a beating. Unfortunately, the built-in screen protector has become a thing of the past, so you’ll have to buy one of your own. You’ll also get a belt holster to make the Defender a bit more manageable in your everyday life.
Supcase UB Pro
The Unicorn Beetle Pro, or UB Pro, from Supcase is one of the best hybrid cases you’ll find. It pairs a polycarbonate and TPU rear shell with a stiff front lip to keep your 6.7-inch beast locked in place. You can choose from four different colors to show off your style, and the back panel doubles as a folding kickstand so you can binge the day away. Supcase’s flagship rugged Galaxy S21 Plus case may not include a built-in screen protector, but it can accommodate one of your own.
Poetic’s Guardian trims down on the color options, but the transparent back panel is a great way to show off your phone. You can still grab a couple of bright trims to match your other accessories, too. The shockproof bumper is the real star of the show, as it adds a pocket of protection to all four corners, and a front lip keeps your Galaxy S21 Plus nice and secure. Unlike most of the other cases, the Guardian does offer a built-in screen cover.
Our last rugged Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus case takes us right back to Otterbox for even more durable protection. You can also pick it up in a completely transparent finish, which might be the best way to show off your new device. The Symmetry offers much of the same protection as the Otterbox Defender, thanks to Drop Plus testing. Otterbox crafted its Symmetry in black, teal, and even a pink graphic pattern if you’re not sold on the clear version.
