How to resize an image with GIMP
If you want to resize an image in GIMP, go to the Image tab at the top.

Click Scale Image….

Here, you can customize the Width and Height values manually — or (and this is what we recommend) you can scale the image by percentage. This means the aspect ratio will remain the same.
To do this, click the dropdown that says px.

From the following options, select percent.

Enter a value for the Width or Height percent based on how much larger or smaller you want the image. Click Scale when finished.
Your image will be scaled accordingly.

How to crop an image with GIMP
If you want to crop an image in GIMP, click the Crop Tool from the options in the upper left. Click and drag your cursor over the area you want to crop in your picture.

After releasing your click, press Enter on your keyboard.GIMP will crop your picture accordingly.
