Next week's Pixel 11 launch has found its host — and a whole lot of guest stars

With less than a week to go until August 12, we are in full Pixel 11 anticipation mode, looking forward to all the hardware getting set to debut at the next Made by Google event. Lately, we’ve been captivated not just by Pixel 11 leak after Pixel 11 leak, but also Google starting to whet our appetite with a few official teasers. Today it takes those to the next level with a look at not just what, but who we can look forward to at the event itself.

As you may remember from last summer, Jimmy Fallon hosted the Pixel 10 launch, joined by celebs like the NBA’s Stephen Curry, Formula 1’s Lando Norris, and the Jonas Brothers. And for the Pixel 11 launch, Google sure looks like its getting ready to turn that celebrity dial up to 11.

Over on X, the Made by Google account shares a star-studded teaser. Instead of Fallon, this time we’ve got frequent Grammy host Trevor Noah taking the reins.

He’ll be joined by Alex Cooper, Shubman Gill, Ayami Nakajô, Peggy Gou, “Jesser,” JuJu Watkins, PinkPantheress, Chari Hawkins, Steven Gerrard, Daniel Durant, and Google teases even more. If you recognized even half of those names, congratulations on being cooler than we are.

And, yes, Stephen Curry will be back (presumably showing off more special edition wearables). With so many names involved, we wouldn’t be surprised if many end up participating through pre-taped segments, but all this star power still speaks to Google’s interest in building up hype.

Google’s event is set to to get underway at 6pm Eastern on August 12, but you won’t have to wait that long to get your Pixel 11 pre-order in, with sales set to begin that morning.
