Sharing a Google Form is simple. Once you’ve created the survey or quiz, tap the Send button to open the Send form. Here you can choose how to share the form — via email, link, HTML embed, or social media.
How to password protect a Google Form
There’s no official option to password protect a Google Form, but there is a nifty workaround. Find the full list of steps below.

- In a blank Google Form, name the first question Password, or any related phrase.
- Set the question’s answer type to Short answer.
- Next, tap the three-dot menu button in the bottom right of the question box, then select Response validation.
- Select Regular expression, then Matches in the first two fields, respectively. In the Pattern field enter the password. Set the Custom error text as “Wrong password,” “Incorrect password,” or any related phrase.
- Toggle on the Required toggle. This will alert a respondent if an incorrect password is entered.
- Next, add a new section by tapping the double rectangle button in the floating menu.
- Once you’ve done this, a new option will appear titled “After section 1”. Tap on the dropdown arrow and select Go to section 2. This will funnel users with the correct password to the second section of the form where you can stage the bulk of your form’s questions.
Remember, you can test if your password works by tapping the Preview button and manually inputting the password yourself.
Importantly, this isn’t a solution to truly secure a form, but it does help prevent answers from those who do not have the password.
