Samsung Galaxy S10e, S10 and S10 Plus demo

If you have a Samsung Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10 Plus, or Galaxy S10e on the way from Verizon or T-Mobile, you’re going to find a day one update when you first turn on the device.

This update supposedly addresses issues with both the camera and the ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. This is interesting because both of those features were notable pain points in Android Authority’s review of the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus.

As far as Sprint, AT&T, and other carriers are concerned, it’s likely they will have day one updates, too. However, only T-Mobile and Verizon list out the updates on their support pages.

The support pages also say there will be an Android security patch in the update; however, the patch for the Verizon update is from February 2019, not the most recent one from March 2019. We can only assume the T-Mobile patch is also February’s, as the support page doesn’t make that clear.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 series is getting high marks across the board from many reviewers, but the fingerprint sensor especially is getting dinged pretty hard. Let’s hope this update makes things much smoother for consumers who are excited to get rip-roarin’ with their new smartphone as soon as they take it out of the box tomorrow.
