How to forward calls on Verizon

Option 1: Using a mobile phone

The easiest way to forward a call is by routing from one phone to another. It just takes these simple steps:

  1. Open the Phone app on the device that you want to forward calls from.
  2. Type *72 followed by the 10-digit number that you want to forward calls to.
  3. Press the Call button.
  4. Listen for a message or a tone that confirms the forwarding.
  5. End the call.

The process is pretty simple, though it does require you to have the phone you want to forward calls from in your hand.

Option 2: Using a computer

If you don’t have the phone you want to forward from in your hand, you can set up call forwarding using a computer. Just follow these steps:

  1. Log in to My Verizon.
  2. Navigate to the Call Forwarding page.
  3. First, select the number that you want to forward calls from.
  4. Then select the number that you want to forward calls to.
  5. Determine whether you want to forward all of your calls or just select calls.
  6. Select Update Call Forwarding Status to save your changes.

How to cancel call forwarding on Verizon

The procedure for canceling call forwarding is even easier than setting it up. To cancel from a mobile phone, open the Phone app and dial *73. Once you hear a message confirming the cancellation, you can hang up.

To cancel from a computer, go back to the Call Forwarding page on My Verizon. Select your number and hit the Cancel Call Forwarding button.
