Apple iPhone 4 vs Pantech Breakout vs DROID X2

by: Carl ParkerDecember 7, 2011

With new, more powerful, and smarter smartphones arriving on Verizon, it is expected that prices of earlier devices will drop down.  And, drop they did.  But, that’s good news for customers, right?  The price factor is still a very powerful factor, especially in these days when a lot of consumer goods compete for every dollar that we earn.

In this post, we will examine 3 of Verizon’s popular 100-dollar smartphones: the iPhone 4, the Motorola Droid X2, and the Pantech Breakout.  Among these three candybar phones, the iPhone 4 is the most expensive at US$549.99 retail price. The Droid X2 comes next at US$449.99. The least expensive is the Pantech Breakout at [...]

HTC Amaze vs iPhone 4S – Superphone Skirmish

The voice-less video shows off both the hardware and the operating system. T-Mobile recently confirmed that the Amaze 4G will be running Gingerbread and have Sense 3.0. Now that the Amaze 4G has [...]

by: James TromansJuly 8, 2010

iOS 4 vs Android 2.2

Ars Technica have released some statistics revealing the performance of Android 2.2 in comparison to the iOS 4 platform. Specifically, the performance benchmarks were based on JavaScript using SunSpider and V8.

To be honest, I am slightly surprised someone had not performed these tests already as they were screaming out to be run. First, it should be noted that the results show “JavaScript execution in Froyo’s Web browser is almost three times faster than in the previous version of the [Android] platform.” This is something we were expecting due to the high-performance JIT that was introduced in [...]
