When the Jawbone ERA arrived at my doorstep, it caught me completely off guard: I completely forgot it was heading my way for a review. But after spending some time with it, I can assure you, I will not forget the ERA anytime soon. I’ve never really saw myself as one to use a Bluetooth ear piece, because I was always under the impression that they were uncomfortable and clumsy. Is this the case with the Jawbone ERA? Video Specs AUDIO NoiseAssassin® 3.0 with wind reduction 10mm wideband speaker (HD audio) Automatic volume control Voice announcements TECHNOLOGY Built-in accelerometer (motion sensor) MotionX™ technology Dual micro-processors …
While at CES 2012 I saw a ton of new Tablets and phones running Android one of my favorite things I saw was the Toshiba Excite 10.1. The reason I fell in love with it was the design, it feels absolutely perfect to me it’s defiantly the best feeling hardware a tablet has ever had. The straight edge makes the thinness of the device really stand out at only 0.3 inches thick. The Toshiba Excite X10 is powered by TI OMAP 4420 dual core processor clocked at 1.2 Ghz equipped with 1 GB of RAM. The screens resolution is 1280 x 800 …
At&t released many devices at CES 2012 one of them being the Samsung Galaxy Note LTE a very large device with a massive 5.3 inch screen. It comes with a stylist to help navigate throughout the huge display, surprisingly enough it fits fine in your pocket and doesn’t feel to abnormal while holding it up to your ear during a phone call. The Samsung Galaxy Note comes packed with a 1.5 Ghz processor, 8MP rear camera with LED flash, 2MP front facing camera for video chatting, 1GB of RAM, a beautiful Super AMOLED display, and a 2500 mAh battery. To see it …
This past week at CES, our very own Darcy LaCouvee was invited to ASUS’s suite to check out some of their new products including the Padfone, Transformer 700, and the ASUS Memo tablets. For now we are just going to check out the ASUS Padfone. The Padfone features a 5MP camera, and running on Android 3.0 – Honeycomb. The tablet part of the duo features a 10.1 inch display and the phone part features a 4.3 inch screen. We were able to get some time with the newer version of the Transformer Prime 700, which features the higher pixel resolution 1920×1200, and better GPS then the original Transformer Prime. Running on a Quad-Core Tegra 3 processor, it’s one arguably one of the best tablets ever made, and is certainly an awesome device. We also got the chance to play with the keyboard dock, which turns the Transformer Prime into a netbook on steroids, ala touch screen goodness. Check out the hands-on Video and pictures we have below and let us know what you think about it. Personally, I …
Yesterday at CES 2012 I had the chance to take a look at the LG Spectrum for Verizon Wireless. Let me tell you this handset is set for success from a spec list stand point, the LG Spectrum is coming packed with a 4.5 measured screen with a resolution of 720 x 1280 making the display look absolutely beautiful, 4G LTE connectivity, 8MP camera with LED flash capable of 1080p video recording, a 1.3 MP camera on the front, running 2.3.5 Gingerbread behind LG’s custom UI, all of this powered by a massively fast 1.5 GHZ Snapdragon processor! Overall the design …
We’ve got a double feature for you in this one. We’ve got Sony’s new Xperia Ion and its’ brother the Xperia S. The only main difference between the two other then its’ style and design, is that the Xperia S is a HSPA-only device while the Xperia Ion supports LTE. Android Authority’s Founder, Darcy LaCouvee was on hand to speak with Sony about their two new Xperia devices and got plenty of pictures to share with you. He also compared it to his Samsung Galaxy S2, it looks like the Xperia Ion and Xperia S blow the Galaxy S2 out …
We’re reporting live here from Las Vegas, at CES 2012! Lots of exciting things are coming up, and here’s our take on Lenovo’s latest tablet – with Tegra 3 and an HD display on board. I just had a hands on with Lenovo’s IdeaTap K2 Android Tablet, and I do have to say it is one fine piece of hardware. The IdeaTab is sporting a Tegra 3 processor, a full HD 1920 x1200 IPS display, dual speakers, and a 8 Megapixel camera. On the outside it is sporting a faux brushed metal back cover, HDMI out, Micro USB, full USB, data …
Yesterday night, Motorola XoomWiFi owners were treated to an over the air update. Once the device was done updating and completely scoured for new updates, most users might have been a little puzzled. It wasn’t until they opened the market that the update became prevalent and exciting. Absolutely packed with new features, user-interface, and more, the market is surely a step-up from the older market. Although some phones may have gotten this update a while back, the cool guys over at Droiddog put together a nice little video detailing what new market looks like on the Motorola Xoom WiFi. Ice …
Thanks to a post last night by The Verge, the Android community got a peek at the new Motorola Edison (Atrix 2) for AT&T. If you remember, Motorola had announced at CES that the Atrix 4G and Droid Bionic would be similar devices. However, while the Motorola Droid Bionic was being completely re-designed, the Atrix 4G was released on time. Now, the Bionic has made it’s way into the market with an impressive list of specs. The codenamed “Edison” should provide the features that were added onto the Bionic into a second-generation Atrix device. Keep reading for more on Mr. “Edison”. …
Fusion Garage’s latest release, the Grid 10 is an Android tablet is a rather unique Android tablet. This is mostly because it technically isn’t an Android tablet. Using a new operating system called Grid OS, which is based on the Android kernel, its main feature is that its basic operations are still Android-based, but with a different graphical user interface. This lets it run Android apps while delivering a completely different user experience. The Grid 10 has some fairly basic specs for a 10.1-inch tablet. Running on an Nvidia Tegra 2 chip backed by 512MB of memory, it only has one 1.3MP …
A member of the AndroidCommunity.com forums has posted what appears to be the first hands-on impressions of the G1 since the launch event last month. There isn’t a lot of meat to what he says, but there are a few interesting tidbits that might have been missed by most of the press at the launch event. It’s not very long, but certainly worth the read. I expect to have my own hands-on review and video for you next week if all goes well, so stay tuned.
