The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is a very unique device with a foldable display, so it makes sense to wonder if things like taking a screenshot work the same way. Luckily, the concept is very similar, and Samsung has included multiple ways to take a screenshot on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4. Let’s go over them together.

QUICK ANSWER

The simplest way to take a screenshot on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is to press the side and volume down buttons simultaneously. Just make sure not to press and hold on to them for too long. Doing this will trigger the power options. For a screenshot, a quick press on the buttons will suffice.

There are multiple ways to use your Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4. You can use it in its slim mode by keeping it folded close and using the external display. It’s also possible to unfold it and take advantage of the much larger screen. There’s also something that falls in the middle, though. Users can unfold the phone halfway and use one side as a platform while the other part of the screen sticks up. Doing this usually extends the image anyways, but there is a neat feature that can turn the bottom side of the screen into a set of tools. It’s called Flex mode.

Enable Flex mode:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Go into Advanced features.
  3. Hit Labs.
  4. Select Flex mode panel.
  5. Toggle on the apps you want to be able to use Flex mode with.

How to take a screenshot using Flex mode:

  1. Navigate to the page you want to take a screenshot of.
  2. Fold the device halfway (about 90 degrees).
  3. The bottom part of the screen will show a set of options and tools.
  4. Hit the Screenshot icon.
  5. The phone will take a screenshot.

Use Scroll Capture to take a screenshot on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4

Scroll Capture is great for apps or websites that have more content than the screen can show at once. We used to have to take multiple screenshots to cover all content. With Scroll Capture, you can create a single long screenshot.

  1. Navigate to the page you want to capture.
  2. Take a screenshot.
  3. When the screenshot toolbar shows up, tap the Scroll Capture button.
  4. Tap on the screen when you want the feature to stop scrolling.

You can also use third-party apps

If you want to take a screenshot and don’t like Samsung’s methods, there is a wide variety of third-party screenshots available from the Google Play Store. We have a list of the best screenshot apps, if you need some help deciding.

A screenshot is just an image of your display’s content. It is pretty much like another photo on your phone, but you’ll have to dig a bit to find it, as it is sent to a different folder in your files. Any gallery app will do, but we’ll show you how to find your screenshot with Samsung’s pre-installed gallery app.

Where to find your screenshots:

  1. Open the Gallery app.
  2. Go into the Albums tab.
  3. Enter the Screenshots folder.
  4. Your screenshots will be there!

FAQs

Regardless of the method you use, the device will take a screenshot of whichever screen you’re using at the time. If your Galaxy Z Fold 4 is folded closed when you take a screenshot, it will capture the external display. If it’s folded open, it will capture the internal display.

Unless you’re using the Scrolling Screenshot feature, screenshots will always be the same size as your screen resolution. This means the screenshot size will depend on which screen you capture. If you’re using the 7.6-inch screen, the resolution will be 1,812 x 2,176. The external display’s resolution is 904 x 2,316.

These will usually show up in the Gallery app. Go into Albums > Screenshots. Your screenshots will be there.

Yes, you can take scrolling screenshots on your Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4. Just take a screenshot, and tap on the Scroll Capture button. Tap on the screen when you want the feature to stop scrolling.

Screenshots are just images, so you can edit them just as you would any other photo. That said, an Edit button in the Screenshot tools shows up right after the screenshot is taken.
