TL;DR
  • Key specs and colorways — along with leaked renders — of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus have been revealed.
  • The phone will likely be available in four colorways: Black, White, Green, and Pink Gold.
  • Additional rumored specs include a 4,500mAh battery, 1,750-nit peak brightness, and a 6.55-inch display.

The Galaxy S21 FE isn’t the only Samsung phone to be delayed this year. Early rumors suggested the Galaxy S22 series would be announced in January, but because of the ongoing global chip shortage, we’re looking at an early February reveal for the new flagship smartphones.

Samsung is expected to launch three phones in the S22 line: the Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and Galaxy S22 Ultra. There are rumors aplenty for the entire Galaxy S22 lineup so far, but now we’re getting even more details about the S22 Plus.

Don’t miss: All the Samsung Galaxy S22 series rumors in one place

A report from MySmartPrice outed new renders of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus, showing the device off in four colorways: Black, White, Green, and Pink Gold. We’re unsure if these are the official names of the colors, though it’s possible the names could be branded as Phantom Black, Phantom White, Phantom Green, and Phantom Pink, as mentioned in a leak from December 31.

In addition to the leaked renders, MySmartPrice also detailed a few key specs for the S22 Plus. It will reportedly feature a 6.55-inch Full HD Plus AMOLED display — a bit smaller than the S22 Ultra’s rumored 6.8-inch screen. MSP’s article corroborates earlier rumors, claiming the device will have a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide, a 12MP telephoto lens with 2X optical zoom, and a 32MP front camera.

Rumor has it, the entire Galaxy S22 line will feature Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset in the United States, while select European countries, such as the UK, will see the devices powered by Samsung’s unannounced Exynos 2200 chip.

Additional rumored specs come from a 91Mobiles article from January 15. The publication says the Galaxy S22 Plus will have a peak brightness of 1,750 nits. If true, this would be a nice upgrade from the S21 Plus’ 1,300-nit peak brightness. This report also mentions the S22 Plus could weigh 195g, a slight change from the S21 Plus’ 200g weight.

It’s rumored that Samsung will announce the Galaxy S22 series on February 9, 2022. You’ll reportedly be able to pre-order the device from February 9 – February 25, 2022, when the phones officially go on sale. We’re still waiting for official event invites from Samsung, so be sure to take this information with a grain of salt.
