Samsung and Spotify revealed a new partnership in August while Samsung was launching the Samsung Galaxy Note 9. With the release of the Samsung Galaxy S10 today, we’re seeing further development of this partnership.

According to a Spotify press release, devices in the Galaxy S10 family sold in the United States will come with Spotify pre-installed. What’s more, Spotify listeners who meet certain eligibility requirements will get six months of free access to Spotify Premium.

To be eligible for the free membership, you must not have used Spotify Premium now or in the past. You also must live in the U.S. and you must provide Spotify with a credit card number that it will use to charge you after the six-month trial is over (unless you cancel beforehand).

Spotify Premium usually costs $9.99 per month, so this is a savings of about $60 — assuming you want a Spotify Premium membership.

Spotify will be pre-installed on all variants of the Samsung Galaxy S10, including the S10 Plus, S10e, and S10 5G. It will also come pre-installed on the Samsung Galaxy Fold and select Samsung Galaxy A series devices.

It’s not known yet whether or not users will be able to uninstall Spotify if they want. Once we get our hands on a retail model of the Samsung Galaxy S10, we’ll know what bloatware can be uninstalled — and what you’re stuck with.
