That’s due in part to its low price point (as low as $4.99 a month with ads), along with a growing amount of both regular and exclusive content. While some major streaming services have ditched their free trial periods, the Paramount Plus free trial is still in effect if you want to check out the service before committing to pay for it.
Here are the details about the Paramount Plus free trial, including if it’s available via third-party services like Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, and others. There are also a couple of ways you can get the service for no additional charge.
Paramount Plus free trial options
No matter what the version of the plan is, new subscribers to Paramount Plus get a seven-day free trial. That means if you log in and sign up for either the ad-based Essential plan at $4.99 a month or the ad-free Premium plan at $9.99 a month, you get seven days to check out the service for free. You will need to cancel the service before the seven-day trial is up to avoid charges on your account.
Free trial on other third-party services
In addition to its stand-alone streaming service, Paramount Plus is included as an add-on option on many different third-party streaming services and packages. That includes channels on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, The Roku Channel, and the recently launched YouTube Prime Channels. If you sign up for Paramount Plus from those services, you will still get a seven-day free trial. Again, if you want to avoid charges, you will have to cancel the service before the free trial is up.
Other free Paramount Plus offers for up to one year
There are also two other ways to get the service for free — sort of. Paramount Plus is being offered as a freebie to all Walmart Plus customers. In this case, this offer is just for the ad-based Essential plan, which normally costs $49.99 a year. Walmart Plus, which also offers other features like free same-day grocery delivery, currently costs $12.95 a month or $98 a year, with a 15-day free trial. If you are already a Paramount Plus subscriber and want to get Walmart Plus for the free year offer, you will have to cancel your current plan on the service to take advantage of this offer.
The other free offer is for people who purchase a new Samsung smart TV between now and October 31, 2023. In this case, you’ll get an offer to receive four months of Paramount Plus for free. Again, this offer is for the ad-based Essential plan. You will have until November 30, 2023, to redeem the offer. More information is available on Samsung’s web site.
