The phone has a 6.5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1,600 x 720. The screen-to-body ratio is pretty high for this price bracket at 81%, which means more space for viewing content, and includes a teardrop notch design for its front-facing camera. In addition, the phone has an IP52 water resistance rating, which means it can handle some splashes and light rain. It has a fingerprint sensor on the back.

Inside, the Motorola Moto G Pure has a MediaTek Helio G25 octa-core processor running at 2GHz. There’s 3GB of RAM and just 32GB of onboard storage, but you can expand that storage with its microSD card slot, up to an additional 512GB.

You get two cameras on the back with the Motorola Moto G Pure. There’s a main 13MP sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. There’s also a 5MP front-facing camera. Perhaps the nicest feature for this phone is its 4,000mAh battery, which is supposed to last up to two days on a single charge. There’s a USB-C port for charging and a 3.5mm headphone jack as well.

The phone will ship with Android 11 out of the box, and Motorola says it will get an update to Android 12 sometime in the future. The phone will get at least two years of security updates, which will be made available either bi-monthly or quarterly.

How to get the Motorola Moto G Pure

Pre-orders for the Motorola Moto G Pure start today online in the US via several retailers. The unlocked version will be sold at Motorola’s own site, along with Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, and B&H Photo for $159.99. Its official sale date is October 13.  Verizon will begin selling the phone on October 14 for $149.99 with a new smartphone line.

In the coming months, the Motorola Moto G Pure will go on sale via several US carriers, including T-Mobile, Metro by T-Mobile, AT&T, Cricket, Republic Wireless, UScellular, Consumer Cellular, Boost Mobile, Xfinity Mobile, and Spectrum Mobile. Metro by T-Mobile will offer the phone for free if you switch over to its network. Look for the phone to launch in Canada in the near future.
