The Samsung Galaxy S10 smartphones all have USB-C ports to charge up their batteries. However, some charging cables work faster than others.
A few years ago Qualcomm announced Quick Charge, a technology it has embedded in its mobile processors. In basic terms, phones with Quick Charge technology should take less time to charge. Qualcomm’s technology is now on version 4+, but the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, and Galaxy S10 Plus all support the older Quick Charge 2.0 standard, which means these phones have an upper limit of 15W for charging. The Galaxy S10 5G, however, supports Quick Charge speeds at up to 25W.
None of these speeds mean as much if you don’t own a fast charging cable. Let’s take a look at some of the fastest charging cables you can get for Galaxy S10 phones.
Fastest charging cables for the Samsung Galaxy S10:
Editor’s note: We’ll be updating this list of the fastest charging cables for the Galaxy S10 phones regularly as new ones launch.
1. Volta 2.0 magnetic charging cablePromoted
The Volta 2.0 magnetic cable is a sleek 5A charging cable that’s also a sync magnetic cable. While it has a standard USB connection on one end, the other end has a magnet that can connect to three different tips: USB-C, Lightning, or Micro-USB cable. If you put the magnetic tips inside the ports of your favorite mobile devices, the magnetic connector on the cable can quickly snap into place. No fumbling around with trying to put a cable connection inside a small hole; the magnets on each end do that work for you.
The Volta 2.0 supports USB-C Power Delivery, along with Huawei’s Fast Charge technology and Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0.
2. Volta XLPromoted
The Volta XL fast charging cable is also a USB-C based product with a magnetic connection on one end. It connects to a separate USB-C tip that inserts on its own in your compatible smartphone, tablet, or other device. It’s also capable of very fast battery charging speeds.
Like the Volta 2.0, the Volta XL is compatible with Huawei’s Fast Charge technology and Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. You can purchase it directly from the Volta website via the button below.
3. Anker PowerLine II USB Type-C to USB Type-C charging cable
Anker is well known for external batteries and wireless speakers, but it also has a lineup of phone charging cables as well. One of them is its PowerLine II USB Type-C to USB Type-C cable. The three-foot Anker PowerLine II can deliver charging speeds that, in theory, should go up to 100W (5A) of power, although the actual charging speeds for the Galaxy S10 phones will not reach those levels. If you are also concerned about data transfer speeds, this cable can support transfers of up to 10Gbps.
Anker has given this cable a lifetime warranty. However, this cable costs a bit more than other charging cables of the same length.
4. Belkin USB-A to USB Type-C charging cable
This cable is for those of you still using an older USB-A external battery or a USB-A car charger, but also own a newer USB-C smartphone like the Galaxy S10. This Belkin charging cable can charge a device up to 60W in theory, though the USB-A port limits the top charging speeds to 20W even with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge.
You can choose from five-foot or six-foot versions of the Belkin cable on Amazon, and it even comes in a few different colors, including black, white, blue, and pink.
5. AmazonBasics double-braided nylon cable
The AmazonBasics double-braided nylon cable produces a power output of up to 3 amps or 5V for a fast and reliable charge. It’s perfect for connecting two USB-C devices and you can transfer music, photos, and data at up to 10Gbps. The double-braided nylon also provides better protection as you take your charger through your everyday life.
AmazonBasics offers the USB-C to USB-C nylon cable in one-foot and three-foot lengths in red, gold, silver, and dark gray.
6. Anker 100W Thunderbolt 3.0 cable
The 1.6-foot Anker 100W cable is a go-to choice if you want the fastest charging and data transfer speeds. As the name suggests, it supports 100W speeds for compatible devices. Unfortunately, that doesn’t include the Samsung Galaxy S10 due to the QuickCharge 2.0 standard, but it does mean you can charge laptops quickly at top speed. The Anker cable also allows for data transfer at blistering speeds of up to 40Gbps.
7. Nekteck USB 3.1 Gen. 2 cable
Nekteck matches Anker’s fastest charging cable for the Samsung Galaxy s10 with 100W output speeds and up to 10Gbps of data transfer. While the slower data transfer can be inconvenient, the Nekteck cable doubles Anker’s length at three feet long. It also offers better speed than USB 3.0 cables and 4K video transfer.
That’s it for our list of the fastest charging cables for the Samsung Galaxy S10 line. We’ll add more options to the list once they launch.
