Samsung Bespoke French Door Refrigerator

With every passing year, it gets easier (and cheaper) to get your smart home up and running. The market is only moving upward at the moment, so it’s no surprise we saw a ton of smart home tech at CES 2022. But which devices rose to the top? To answer that, we have this best smart home tech at CES 2022 roundup!

The usual heavy-hitters are here, including Samsung and Eufy. GE also had a great device as did Withings. Continue on to see which devices impressed us the most at the show!

Eufy Security Video Doorbell Dual

The Eufy Security Video Doorbell Dual and its HomeBase 2 hub

Smart doorbells are nothing new. Whether they’re wireless, wired, or both, pretty much every smart home company has one. The Eufy Security Video Doorbell Duo, though, tweaks the formula a bit to create something pretty exciting.

The thing that sets the Video Doorbell Duo apart from the competition is its second camera. The main camera does what you’d expect: it faces outward to capture the faces of people who come to your door. The second camera, however, faces downward to capture footage of packages and deliveries left on your doorstep. No more porch piracy!

This dual approach makes the Eufy doorbell incredibly versatile. Other smart doorbells try to capture as much as possible with one camera, such as the Google Nest Doorbell. With two cameras, though, the Eufy model trumps that system.

Aside from the innovative second camera, the Eufy Security Video Doorbell Duo is also just a great doorbell cam. It can be used wired or wirelessly, does not require a subscription, has two-way audio, and the main camera is a 2K sensor. It even works with both Google Assistant and Amazon’s Alexa. You can get everything you need to use the doorbell — including its required base system — for $350 starting in February 2022.

Withings Body Scan smart scale

A great smart scale doesn’t just measure your weight. No, that’s for the “dumb” scales that have been around for decades. A good smart scale can give you many more health data points. However, most smart scales can’t do nearly as many things as the Withings Body Scan. Its wealth of features makes it one of the best smart home products at CES 2022.

According to Withings, its new smart scale can measure your weight, record an electrocardiogram (ECG), analyze your nerve activity, and even estimate your body composition.

To get that ECG reading, you’ll need to grab onto the innovative retractable handle you see in the image above. Holding the handle records a six-lead ECG which is pushed to the Withings smartphone app. From the app, you can view your results and even share them with your doctor.

For those of you who put a high priority on weight measurements, though, the Body Scan should shine there as well. Withings says the scale can measure your body weight to 0.1lbs/50g accuracy.

Along with the scale, Withing also debuted a new subscription health coaching system. This service should pair well with the scale, but it isn’t necessary to use it.

The Withings Body Scan will land sometime in H2 2022 for an undisclosed price. Withings is waiting on CE and FDA clearance before making any commitments.

GE Cync Smart Thermostat

Cync Thermostat

GE’s Cync line of smart home products only launched last year at CES 2021. However, the company is looking to make up for lost time by launching a bunch of Cync products. With that in mind, its new smart thermostat is one of the best smart home devices at CES 2022.

The aptly named Cync Smart Thermostat is actually nothing super special on paper. It controls your HVAC system, naturally, and works with the Cync app for remote operation. You can program heating/cooling schedules or just change things on the fly using the touch-enabled display.

The two things that set the Cync thermostat apart are its price and its versatility. The Cync Smart Thermostat starts at just $119, which makes it very affordable. Likewise, it can be installed without a common wire, which will make it work in almost any home.

Finally, for $29 each, you can buy sensor nodes to place around your house. Using these, you can have more precise control over your home’s temperature. Once again, we’ve seen this tech before, but $29-per-node is a pretty decent price.

The Cync Smart Thermostat goes on sale this month (January 2022).

ECOVACS Deebot X1 Omni

The ECOVACS Deebot X1 Omni robot vacuum and its docking station

As usual, we saw a ton of robot vacuum launches at CES 2022. Roborock impressed us with its new S7 MaxV Ultra along with its Empty Wash Fill Dock. However, ECOVACS delivered the more impressive machine with the Deebot X1 Omni, shown in the image above.

It is now the flagship (read: most expensive) product in ECOVACS’ portfolio. With robot vacuums, though, you truly get what you pay for, and the X1 Omni seems like it could be the new gold standard.

The X1 Omni can both vacuum and mop your floors. While doing so, it creates intricate 3D maps of your home so it can more easily navigate to specific areas when commanded. With this model, you not only can ask it to clean your kitchen, but you can even specifically tell it to just clean under your kitchen table.

Speaking of commands, the X1 Omni has voice command support. ECOVACS provides its own voice assistant known as Yiko. This means you can issue voice commands without linking it to a third-party system — just talk directly to the vacuum. Commands include starting, stopping, toggling settings, or cleaning labeled areas.

Finally, the X1 Omni’s docking station can auto-empty its dust bin, which we’ve seen before. However, it can also empty — and refill — the vacuum’s water tank as well. This really is the all-around robot to beat.

Of course, all this convenience will cost you. The Deebot X1 Omni will start at $1,549 when it launches in March 2022. Ouch.

Samsung Bespoke French Door refrigerator

SmartThings Hub Bespoke Appliances

Samsung has been at the forefront of smart home tech. The company’s significant market share of the home appliance industry makes it well-suited for innovations in this area. As expected, Samsung had plenty of smart home stuff to show off at the event, including the new Samsung Bespoke French Door refrigerator.

“Bespoke” is a fancy word for customizable. You can order your new fridge in an assortment of 12 different colors. What’s more, is you can mix-and-match the paneling to make something blend in with your home or pop out as a statement piece. You can see how much variety you can get from the image above as well as the one at the top of this article.

But making your fridge look cool isn’t really part of the smart home. That’s true, but the 21.5-inch, Full HD touchscreen built into the front of the fridge certainly is! This is known as the Bespoke Family Hub and it will allow you to control various aspects of the fridge as well as your connected home. You can also listen to music, watch videos, buy groceries, and find recipes. It will also do the usual things you’d expect from a smart fridge, such as act as a family notepad/message board. It’s essentially a huge tablet connected to your fridge for the entire family to access.

You’ll be able to grab a Bespoke French Door refrigerator with the Bespoke Family Hub starting this year. Pricing and availability will vary.

Eufy Security Garage-Control Cam

Eufy Garage Control Cam

Eufy already took the top spot in our best smart home devices of CES 2022 roundup with its new doorbell. However, the company also found time to launch an innovative smart garage device. In fact, it launched two.

The Eufy Security Garage Control Cam can control one garage door while simultaneously working as a garage security camera. This saves you the hassle of needing to buy both a smart garage controller and a camera. It’s all there for you in one package.

Keep reading: The best smart security cameras you can buy

The camera is a 1080p system without many bells and whistles. It can recognize people and motion, records on-device to an SD card, does not require a subscription to work, and has two-way audio. That’s pretty much the basics nowadays.

If you wish the camera had a higher resolution or the ability to control two garage doors, Eufy has you covered there as well. The Eufy Security Garage Control Cam Plus records in 2K and can control up to two garage doors.

The vanilla model will cost just $99 when it launches in March 2022. The Plus variant will launch at the same time for $129.
