Guardian: Nokia bringing Android in September. Nokia: No way

NokiaThe UK’s Guardian is reporting that Nokia is going to show its first Android powered smartphone at an event in September of this year.  The site quotes anonymous “industry insiders” as being the source for the information.

Considering that Nokia developed S60, the most popular smartphone system on the planet, and also has its own open-source Maemo OS being developed (and don’t forget its recent agreement to co-develop Moblin with Intel), this seems like pure fantasy.

Nokia appears to agree, having put out a statement through Reuters.
