1Weather is already among the best weather apps available today and one of its key features is Android Wear support. With your smartwatch, you can take a look at current weather conditions and the weather forecast. It’s not as powerful on your watch as it is on your actual device, but that shouldn’t stop you from giving it a shot. It’s totally free to use with $1.99 being the price to remove advertising from the app.

Find My Phone best Android Wear appsFind My Phone

[Price: Free / $1.99]
It’s true that Android Device Manager supports Android Wear devices now and for the bare minimum, we recommend you at least activate that. Those looking for something a little extra should give Find My Phone for Android Wear a shot. It uses the link to your device as a means for finding it. You can turn on the flashlight, make alarms go off, turn on vibration, turn on the screen, and more. About half of those require buying the pro version but it’s a solid app that works very well.

Google Keep is perhaps the best note taking application available for Android Wear. [Price: $1.99]
PixtoCam is a unique application that allows you to use your Android Wear device as a viewfinder for your phone camera. There are a bunch of apps like this and most of them work very well, but we liked the features offered by PixtoCam. It focuses on photographers and lets you do things like snap pictures, zoom, use a timer, adjust flash settings, and more. You can also use it as a utility app to see things on your watch while you point your phone in spots you otherwise couldn’t see.

pocket casts best android wear appsPocket Casts

[Price: $3.99]
Most music applications have added Android Wear support at this point but the same cannot be said for podcast applications. Pocket Casts is an amazing podcast app with a huge amount of available content in both audio and video podcast format. Android Wear support includes the ability to control the podcasts with pause/play and custom skip intervals. That’s about as good as it gets for podcast support on Android Wear.

Runtastic best android wear appsRuntastic Running & Fitness

[Price: Free with in-app purchases]
Getting into shape and taking care of one’s body is definitely in right now and one of the many uses for Android Wear is for fitness purposes. You have Google Fit which will count your steps and give you some extra features but if you want something more, we recommend you try out Runtastic. It was one of the earliest apps to have Android Wear support that lets you control the app directly from your wrist. It’s a great fitness app and one of the best fitness apps for Android Wear.

Despite being out a while, Store for Android Wear is still a necessary app for Android Wear owners. This one allows you to quickly find Android Wear apps which is great because the Google Play Store still doesn’t do this very well. All Android Wear apps link to the Play Store which is the safest place to get apps and you can find all kinds of recommendations and selections to make your Wear device work better than ever before. wear messenger best android wear appsWear Messenger

[Price: $1.62]
Wear Messenger is an SMS application that allows you to send texts from your Android Wear device. Not a lot of texting apps have SMS support yet which makes this great if you use an app that doesn’t. It even includes a built-in keyboard so you can tap out messages to your friends. The full QWERTY keyboard isn’t great but the T9 keyboard works pretty well for short missives. It’s a fun little SMS app and one that actually works on Wear!

Wear Mini Launcher best android wear appsWear Mini Launcher

[Price: Free with in-app purchases]
Wear Mini Launcher was one of the first Android Wear apps that gained success and it’s currently one of the highest rated Android Wear apps out there. The app gives you the opportunity to quickly find your Android Wear apps on your device. The latest Wear updates have made finding the app drawer easier but this app makes it easier still. If you’re a power user who wants to find those apps and use them, this is the app you can use to do it.
