Last week’s poll summary: Last week, we asked you to tell us your favorite notch alternative. Out of all the votes on our website and social channels, you told us you’d rather have a bigger bezel on the top instead of a notch. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3’s manual slide-out method barely squeezed into second place, followed closely by the “I actually prefer the notch” option.

We run a lot of polls here at Android Authority. Thanks to your diligent voting every week, we know most of our readers buy phones that are black, made of metal, and fresh off the store shelves. Those numbers tell us the specific features you look for in a phone, but now we want to know what influences you to buy a phone.

Some people look to tech review sites to steer them in the right direction when buying a new phone. Others need more hard data to go on, however. I know there are people out there who are constantly comparing benchmark scores, speed tests, and DxOMark camera tests. I also hope some of you check out our Best of Android series to see just how all the major flagships of the year compare against each other.

Some of you don’t care about that stuff at all. It’s completely normal to want a phone that “just works,” which is why many folks buy phones based on their friends’ recommendations.

What influences you the most? Cast your vote in the poll below, and feel free to choose as many answers as you can.
