Galaxy S24 series gets second One UI 9 beta, bringing the Z Fold 8's best features

Samsung has brought the One UI 9 beta to a slew of phones, and Galaxy S24 owners gained access early this month. Now, the second One UI 9 beta has arrived on Galaxy S24 series phones, and it brings several major features that debuted on the Galaxy Z8 series.

Tipster Tarun Vats and Redditors report that the second One UI 9 beta (firmware version ending in ZZI4) is out now for the Galaxy S24 range. Best of all, this update brings Now Nudge, My FanCam, Call Brief, and custom cards in Now Brief to Samsung’s 2024 flagships.

Now Nudge is effectively Samsung’s take on the Pixel’s Magic Cue feature, as it’s supposed to proactively make suggestions based on what’s on your screen. Meanwhile, My FanCam is a Gallery feature that identifies a specific subject in a captured video, then generates a zoomed-in clip focusing on that person.

Call Brief joins Samsung’s growing list of smart calling features. This tool will display events and “other” relevant information on the call screen during your phone call. Finally, the update lets you create custom Now Brief cards based on the weather, health metrics (e.g., steps, water intake, exercise), or YouTube videos.

This rollout comes after the Galaxy S25 series gained these same features last week. Either way, we’re glad Samsung is bringing its recent smart features to older flagship phones. So you don’t have to upgrade to the latest devices if you simply want to try some of these tools.
