TL;DR
  • OnePlus has revealed the OnePlus Buds Clip, its first open-ear wireless earbuds featuring an adaptive nickel-titanium C-bridge and interchangeable left/right ear detection.
  • The earbuds feature Dynaudio-tuned dual drivers (11mm woofer and 9mm tweeter), LHDC 5.0 Hi-Res support, and dipole sound-field technology to minimize audio leakage.
  • Offering up to 40 hours of total battery life, Bluetooth 6.1, and an IP55 rating, the OnePlus Buds Clip are listed globally in three colors, though pricing and availability are yet to be announced.

OnePlus has exited the US and EU markets, but it still operates in some global regions. OnePlus has now officially entered the open-ear audio space with the reveal of the OnePlus Buds Clip, joining the growing segment of clip-style true wireless earphones that are designed for all-day awareness and comfort, and taking direct aim at rivals such as the Bose Ultra Open (2nd Gen) Earbuds and the Sony LinkBuds Clip.

OnePlus has already listed the OnePlus Buds Clip on its global website, indicating that the product is intended for a wider release beyond its home market of China.

According to the official product specifications, each earbud weighs just 5.2 grams. Built around an adaptive nickel-titanium (Ni-Ti) memory alloy C-bridge, the design flexes to match individual ear contours without clamping down hard, earning a TÜV Rheinland “Comfortable Fit” certification. Notably, the buds feature symmetrical auto-detection: users can place either bud on either ear, and internal sensors automatically reroute the left and right stereo channels accordingly.

Under the hood, OnePlus has equipped the OnePlus Buds Clip with a dual-driver setup comprising an 11mm woofer and a 9mm tweeter, driven by dedicated dual DACs and co-tuned with long-time audio partner Dynaudio. Supported by LHDC 5.0 alongside standard AAC and SBC codecs, the earbuds claim Hi-Res Audio Wireless capabilities.

Open-ear earbuds are notorious for sound leakage, and to mitigate this, OnePlus is using “Dipole Sound-Field” tech, which fires reverse-phase waves through rear vents to minimize audio leakage into your surroundings and keep your music private.

For calls, the OnePlus Buds Clip use a six-microphone array alongside a 6nm “AI Audio Chip” to capture bone-conducted vibrations and filter out ambient chatter.

On the endurance front, the Buds Clip boast up to 9.5 hours of standalone playback in AAC mode (8 hours in LHDC), expanding to 40 hours total with the charging case. Other notable touches include an IP55 dust- and water-resistance rating for the earbuds, Bluetooth 6.1, dual-device connection, Google Fast Pair and Windows Swift Pair, and integrated drop alerts for when one earbud falls off. You also get touch-based volume controls and tap controls, as well as an AI Translate feature that works with OnePlus phones.
