New flagship hands the Pixel 11 Pro a huge defeat in reader poll
Oct 2, 2026 — 5:54 AM ET

When pitting a Motorola against a Google Pixel, you might believe that the latter should rack up several comfortable wins across the various weight classes. However, a new reader poll suggests that interest in Google’s flagships may be waning, especially when viewed alongside Motorola’s newest contender.
The Pixel 11 Pro has the pedigree, the proven long-term software support, the allure of Google’s HiLight feature, and plentiful Gemini smarts. However, the Motorola Signature 27 is tempting more than a few of us at Android Authority, as my colleague Joe Maring attests.
“Motorola seems to be checking every box, and even though I love the Pixel 11 Pro, the Signature 27 is calling my name for a few reasons,” Joe writes in a recent feature. However, we always appreciate our readers’ input, so we ran a poll to gauge the prevailing sentiment.
In the battle between the Motorola Signature 27 and the Google Pixel 11 Pro, there’s only one winner.

This survey garnered over 1,700 votes from our readership. Nearly two-thirds (73.9%) of respondents voted for the Motorola, leaving the Pixel with just 26.1% of the remaining ballots. That’s a massive win for the Signature 27, and indicates three in every four readers in this poll would snag the dark horse over the established pick.
As Joe suggests, there might be a reason for this. He specifically highlights Motorola’s faster Snapdragon chipset, the phone’s “funky” styling, and far quicker charging speeds. However, readers in the comments suggest that the Signature 27’s landslide poll win shouldn’t be taken without context.

The hardware [is -ed] often nice for Motorola. But for the software, their updates are often very slow compared to other brands. Can you trust them when they say 7 years? My Motorola Edge 50 Neo was promised 5 OS updates. But seems to be stuck with Android 16.
Ya_Boi_PookiePook agrees:
Paper specs look great until you actually live with the device day after day. A Snapdragon chip and fast charging cannot compensate for delayed updates and patchy software support. The Pixel 11 Pro delivers reliable day one Android builds, cohesive feature drops, and proven computational photography that consistently hits without needing theoretical horsepower.
Then there’s reader Mike, with a rather straightforward statement:
Moto burned me years ago with ZERO Android updates. NEVER AGAIN.
It’s clear that Motorola still has some ways to go to patch what appears to be a damaged reputation, but the Signature 27 certainly goes a long way to doing just that.
Do you agree with your fellow readers? Would you rather buy the Motorola Signature 27 over the Pixel 11 Pro? If so, why? Let’s discuss in the comments section below.
