MIUI 9.5 coming to over 30 Xiaomi devices

TL;DR
  • Xiaomi will push MIUI 9.5 to over 30 of its devices.
  • This news comes on the back of the company announcing that MIUI 9.0 would hit 40 of its devices.
  • Both MIUI 9.0 and 9.5 are based on Android 7.0 Nougat.

Back in January, we reported that Xiaomi would be pushing out MIUI 9.0 to 40 of its devices, ranging from the flagship Mi Mix 2 to the budget-friendly Redmi 2A. Now, the company has announced that MIUI 9.5 will come to over 30 of its devices by the end of next month.

Both MIUI 9.0 and MIUI 9.5 are based on Android 7.0 Nougat. MIUI is so heavily customized that it takes Xiaomi much longer than other companies to completely revamp its Android skin, which is why it’s a generation behind when it comes to Android versions.

But still, both MIUI 9.0 and 9.5 will bring many much-needed enhancements to Xiaomi smartphones. There’s a new notification shade feature for bundles of notifications and Quick Reply. Also, the software will come with new security updates, naturally.
