We’re just under two weeks shy of the Google Stadia release date. It would seem as though the search giant is starting launch prep early for its ambitious game streaming service as the official Stadia app is now available to download on the Google Play Store.

Anyone can download the app by hitting the button below, but don’t expect to find anything to play just yet!

Once you’ve installed and opened the app — which weighs in at a lean 129MB — you’ll be greeted with splash page featuring a pretty swish-looking Destiny 2 promo. From there you can pick which Google account you want to use for Stadia, which the app tells you is a permanent choice — you can’t switch accounts at a later date.

That’s all we’re getting for now, however, as to get any further you’ll need an invite code from either the Founder’s Edition or Premiere Edition. Those that have pre-ordered Stadia will get their codes starting November 19. For everyone else there’s an option to sign up for updates.

The app preview on the Play Store gives us a quick look at how the library and friends list will look in the final version of the app. There are also tabs for Store, Home, and Explore, with the latter providing quick links to YouTube, Reddit, Twitter, Facebook, and Discord, as well as a tile for the Stadia community forum.

The app notably has a dark theme which suits the dark mode introduced with Android 10. At launch Stadia will be compatible with the Pixel 2, Pixel 3a, Pixel 3, and Pixel 4 phones, as well as Pixel Slate, Acer Chromebook Tab 10, and HP Chromebook X2 Chrome OS tablets.

Does the app look good to you? Let us know in the comments.
