We asked, you told us: You're deeply split over the Google Pixel Watch

Google finally launched the Pixel Watch last week, coming after leaks spanning a few years. Expect a round design, Wear OS 3.5, and Fitbit integration, making for a pretty interesting proposition at first glance.

We wanted to find out what Android Authority readers thought of the watch, so we posted a poll asking whether it was hot or not. Here are the results of that poll.

We received 953 votes for this poll, and this was an exceptionally close affair. It turns out that a tiny majority of surveyed readers (50.74%) feel that the Pixel Watch isn’t hot stuff. If you’re in that camp, you might want to check out our list of the best Pixel Watch alternatives.

Reader comments pointed to downsides like proprietary watch bands, an old processor, the price tag, and the short battery life on paper. We understand these complaints, as the Galaxy Watch 5 is cheaper and offers more impressive specs.

Otherwise, 49.26% of polled readers feel that the Pixel Watch is indeed hot. We didn’t actually see any reader comments strongly supporting this stance, but we’re guessing the design and Fitbit integration are two reasons to like this smartwatch.

• Tennisfreak: The Pixel watch is a great example of a huge corporation with way too much money making a product that does not fit market needs. With the old SoC, not impressive battery life, proprietary bands, and high price this will be DOA.

• gwine: Certainly attractive but too many negatives, including proprietary straps, “up to” 24 hour battery, massive bezels and, therefore, a smaller display, and the price. In addition, that glass looks nice, but I would not wear it to the gym.
