TL;DR
  • Google now sells the Pixel Tablet without the speaker dock accessory.
  • The standalone tablet is available at a big discount over the bundled package.

Google launched the Pixel Tablet roughly a year ago, and the company bundled the device with a speaker dock. You were out of luck if you wanted Google’s tablet without the dock accessory, though, but that’s changing today.

Google has confirmed that it’s now selling the Pixel Tablet without the speaker dock, coming in at $399 / £399 / €499. That’s a steep discount compared to the bundled price of $499 / £599 / €679. The UK price, in particular, is a significant £200 off the bundled asking price.

Otherwise, this is the same tablet that Google launched last year. That means a Tensor G2 chipset, 8GB of RAM, 128GB or 256GB of storage, and a 10.95-inch LCD panel. In saying so, the company also confirmed that Circle to Search is coming to the Pixel Tablet later this month.

Keen on buying a standalone Pixel Tablet? Then it’ll be available to pre-order from May 7, with sales kicking off from May 14 in the US, Europe, UK, and other markets. The company is also expanding Pixel Tablet sales to Italy and Spain.

We also heard rumors of a pen and keyboard for the Pixel Tablet, but Google told Android Authority that it had nothing to announce right now.
