Update: February 6, 2023 (03:05 PM ET): When we first posted this article, Google only had pushed updates for the active Pixels on its roster, which means everything from the Pixel 4a and later. However, sometime afterward, the company added two new updates for the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL. These phones received their last official update in October 2022. It appears Google is giving them one last send-off. You can download the February 2023 factory images and OTAs for the Pixel 4 lineup at the links.

Original article: February 6, 2023 (01:27 PM ET): The February 2023 Android security patch is here! If you own a recent Google Pixel smartphone, you can perform a software update check now in System Settings to grab it. You can also update manually or simply wait for the OTA notification.

We expect the next big Pixel feature drop to land in March. As such, this month’s update just brings the new security update and some bug fixes. You can see the full changelog here.

This update is interesting, however, because T-Mobile customers — and even those Pixel users with an unlocked phone but with a T-Mobile SIM card — still haven’t received January’s update. This month’s release does have separate downloads for T-Mobile and Google Fi users, so clearly, something is being address specifically for those folks. This is one of the very few times in recent memory that certain Pixel users have simply skipped an entire month for patches.

If you don’t want to wait for the OTA alert on your Pixel phone, you can always manually update. To download the factory image or OTA, click the appropriate link below. Don’t have a Pixel phone? The Google Pixel 6a costs just $499 and will receive software updates until 2027.
