Here is when Android 10 is coming to the OnePlus 6/6T and OnePlus 5/5T (Updated)
Update, October 11, 2019 (10:10 AM ET): After revealing its Android 10 update plans on stage during the launch of the OnePlus 7T Pro, OnePlus decided to clarify its remarks a bit. In a post on its official community forums, Oxygen OS lead Manu J. gave some more specifics about the Android 10 rollout and when people can expect it.
In the original article below, we said that Android 10 would come to the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T by the end of this month. However, that was just for a beta release, apparently, with the stable rollout coming in November instead.
Check out the table below for more information:
Notably, the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro Android 10 update is still listed as “in process,” even though that process started in September. Although OnePlus still hasn’t directly confirmed as much, the rollout must have been halted as there is no way it should be taking this long.
Original article, October 10, 2019 (11:39 AM ET): Android 10 officially landed on September 3, 2o19. OnePlus had a beta rollout of Android 10 for the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro on that same day and rolled out a stable version for those two devices only days later.
Now, while on stage launching the OnePlus 7T Pro in London, OnePlus announced when you can expect Android 10 to arrive on older smartphones.
Every OnePlus device from the OnePlus 5 forward will get a stable version of Android 10. Newer devices will need to wait quite a while to get it, but it will come.
Here’s when to expect Android 10 on your OnePlus device:
- OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T: By the end of October 2019
- OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T: In the second quarter of 2020
Unfortunately, the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T will no longer receive Android updates, although the 3T did get Android 9 Pie last year, so OnePlus kept that one up-to-date for longer than expected.
The OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro will both launch with Android 10 out-of-the-box.
All OnePlus devices have beta software programs that will allow you to test out new versions of Android before they launch in a stable state. If you want more info on that, check out our guide here.
