TL;DR
  • Xiaomi pokes fun at Apple with phone, laptop, fitness tracker, and Bluetooth earphones bundles that cost the same as the new iPhones.
  • The XS, XS Max, and XR sets are unfortunately only available in China.

Xiaomi has fired a cheeky shot at Apple by highlighting the massive price disparity between its products and the next-generation iPhones revealed last week.

If you head over to Xiaomi China’s official store (via XDA-Developers) you’ll see three new bundles unsubtly named the XS, XS Max, and XR sets.

Included in each bundle is a new Xiaomi phone — either the Mi Mix 2S, Mi 8, or Mi 8 SE, respectively — a Xiaomi Notebook, a Mi Band 3, and a Bluetooth earpiece/earphones, all for the same price as their namesake iPhones.

While you might argue that some of the comparisons don’t stand up to scrutiny (does the Mi Mix 2S or the Mi 8 really match the XS or XS Max?), it’s hard to argue with Xiaomi’s ‘why buy one device when you could get a new phone, a laptop, a fitness tracker, and earphones?’ logic.

Unfortunately, these bundles, which represent pretty hefty savings on the selected devices, are only available in China for the time being. Here’s hoping the deals make it to other shores where Xiaomi has a retail presence, but until then we can still enjoy Xiaomi’s blatant dig at the Cupertino giant from afar.

A few of us here at Android Authority gave Xiaomi a hard time for cribbing from Apple so blatantly with the Mi 8, but even we can appreciate a bit of shade being thrown when it also benefits the consumer.

What do you make of Xiaomi’s bundles? Let us know in the comments.
