The Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are edging closer to their official release. As the flagship devices from the creator of the platform we know and love, the new Google phones are highly anticipated products. For those of you wanting to go hands-on with the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL at your earliest opportunity, you’ll be pleased to know that you may be able to today at your local Verizon store.

Verizon PR Scott Charlston noted on Twitter (via Droid Life) that Verizon stores would have the new Google phones out on display for you to play with on this fine Thursday, though it’s not clear if this is simply for one day only.

Also unclear is if this will be possible at every Verizon location. Charlston’s comments would indicate so, but knowing Google’s history of shipping devices, it’s not a certainty; perhaps call ahead if you’re thinking about making a trip.

Verizon is the exclusive carrier of the Pixel 2 (though it’s available from a number of online retailers) and its pre-orders are now open for the devices, with a delivery promise of October 19 for the standard variant, and November 1 for the Pixel XL 2.
