Verizon makes its expensive plans cheaper for U.S. military
- Verizon announced military discounts for its unlimited plans.
- Military families can also get a $200 prepaid card for a limited time.
Verizon announced a new promotion that offers several discounts for U.S. military members and their families. We are sure this has absolutely nothing to do with T-Mobile’s own military-specific discount, revealed in April, that makes its One plan less expensive.
Verizon’s promotion nets active-duty military, reservists, Gold Star families, and veterans $15 off one line, $35 off two lines, and $40 off three or more lines. This means that the Go Unlimited plan sells for $30 per month per line for four lines.
Because Verizon lets you use different unlimited plans for one bill, the promotion also applies to the carrier’s new Beyond Unlimited and Above Unlimited plans.
To get the discount, log into your account and pick the unlimited plans you want. Alternatively, you can pick another plan and get 15 percent off each month and 25 percent off certain accessories.
Military families can also get a $200 MasterCard prepaid card if they activate a new LTE phone on a new line. Your account must be in good standing for 45 days and you will get the prepaid card within 10 weeks of Verizon receiving the necessary materials.
Also, the carrier will charge you $200 if you have the prepaid card and cancel your service within six months. Finally, you must submit required materials within 30 days of your phone and line purchase if you want the prepaid card.
