Huawei just took the wraps off a brand new smartphone. Called the P8 Lite (2017), it’s apparently the successor to the original P8 Lite, which was released back in 2015. The device brings quite a few new things to the table including improved specs and a different design.

The HUAWEI P8 Lite (2017) sports a 5.2-inch Full HD screen and is powered by the Kirin 655 chipset. It has 3 GB of RAM and comes equipped with a 12 MP primary camera with an f/2.0 aperture and a selfie snapper that has an 8 MP sensor. There is only 16 GB of storage available for your apps, videos, and other data, but luckily it is expandable with the help of a microSD card.

The device also comes with a non-removable 3,000 mAh battery, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, and runs Android 7.0 Nougat with HUAWEI’s latest EMUI 5.0 user interface on top. Strangely, it doesn’t look at all like any of the other devices from the P series. The HUAWEI P8 Lite (2017) features a glass body that is quite similar to the one we have seen on the HONOR 8.

Anyway, HUAWEI’s latest smartphone will be available in select European markets soon. Sales are expected to start at the end of January. The P8 Lite (2017) will retail for around €240 and will be initially only available in black. A few weeks later, you’ll also be able to get the device in white or gold. Some reports claim that HUAWEI will launch the handset in Latin America as well, where it will be called the P9 Lite (2017).
