TL;DR
  • Samsung has confirmed that it will launch a new foldable in China next week, hinting at the W27.
  • This will likely be a China-only variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, featuring a more premium design with a gold-colored frame.
  • A tipster has also posted a picture of the Samsung W27 while claiming it will have the same specs as the Z Fold 8 Ultra.

Samsung has already launched three foldable phones this year, namely the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. However, the company is preparing to launch one more foldable very soon.

Samsung has confirmed on Weibo that it will launch a new product in China on October 29. The accompanying image shows a book-style foldable phone with a gold-colored frame.

The firm’s linked website also mentions “W2026” in the URL, while the website itself asks visitors why they’re interested in the Samsung W series. Check out the screenshot below.

So what could this new foldable phone be? Well, tipster Ice Universe claims it’s the Samsung W27, which is effectively a China-exclusive variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. The leaker also posted an apparent picture of the device.

The image indeed shows a gold-colored frame, along with a golden-hued camera island, and a different rear logo. Otherwise, it definitely looks like a Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. In fact, Ice Universe claims in a follow-up comment that it will have the same specs as the Z Fold 8 Ultra.

That means we’re likely looking at a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor, a 5,000mAh battery with 45W charging, and a 200MP+50MP+10MP rear camera trio. However, the Samsung W26 also had more RAM than the Galaxy Z Fold 7, exclusive Galaxy AI tools, and came with a charger. So don’t be surprised if the W27 offers similar perks. Either way, the Samsung W series is typically exclusive to China, so you’ll likely need to import the W27 if you really want it.
