The Samsung Good Lock app is one of the company’s breakout hits. The rabid fanbase of the suite of customization tools can now get excited for the release of its new version, which will support Android 10.

According to the person in charge of Good Lock development (via SamMobile), the 2020 iteration of Samsung Good Lock will land on February 3, 2020. That’s a full month sooner than the company’s launch of the 2019 version of Good Lock, which landed on March 7 last year.

The rollout will begin in Samsung’s native South Korea and then make its way to the rest of the world throughout the month.

Obviously, along with support for Android 10, the 2020 version of Samsung Good Lock will support the company’s proprietary Android skin, One UI 2.0. The launch of the new app will also likely make it available out-of-the-box for the series of Samsung Galaxy S20 devices.

The new version of Good Lock will support the system-wide dark mode offered by Android 10 on Samsung devices and also incorporate design elements from One UI 2.0. Elsewhere, the Lockstar tool will automatically arrange elements to match the background by using AI, a new notification detail has been added, and various improvements to Task Changer, Sound Assistant, One Hand Operation, and ThemePark will arrive, too.

According to the lead developer of Samsung Good Lock, it takes so long to create new versions of the app because it needs to be rebuilt completely with each Android upgrade. You can read all about the process here (in Korean).
