TL;DR
  • It’s rumored that a new Samsung Galaxy S22 “Bora Purple” colorway is coming soon.
  • The device looks similar to the Violet variant you can buy today.
  • It is likely all Galaxy S22 models would land in this color and possibly future Samsung devices, too.

Samsung is pretty good about launching plenty of interesting color options with its phones. The Galaxy S22 series has the traditional Phantom Black and Phantom White variants along with Pink Gold and green. There are also colors exclusive to Samsung.com: Graphite, Cream, Sky Blue, and Violet.

Now, though, it looks like there could be a Samsung Galaxy S22 “Bora Purple” color on the way. Thanks to Samsung’s own website (via SlashLeaks), Samsung is prepping the launch of the new colorway soon. Interestingly, the purple shade looks quite similar to the purple associated with K-pop group BTS, whom Samsung has partnered with in the past. However, this time, it doesn’t appear to be a tie-in with BTS.

Check out the leaked Bora Purple color below.

As you can see, the purple is quite subtle. It’s a very light shade that covers all aspects of the phone. It’s similar to the Violet model, just without the gold trim.

Samsung has only posted an image for the main Galaxy S22. However, it’s rumored that all Galaxy S22 devices — including the Galaxy S22 Ultra — would come in this new color.

The question, though, is when we’ll see this Samsung Galaxy S22 Bora Purple color. If we had to guess, we think Samsung would launch it at around the same time as its foldable phones, which we expect in August. It’s likely future Samsung phones could also land in Bora Purple, so that would make a lot of sense.

Regardless, if you haven’t yet purchased a Galaxy S22 and aren’t happy with the colors we’ve seen so far, a new choice is likely on the way.
