Wouldn’t it be great if you could automate all of your household chores? Unfortunately, there are certain tasks you still have to do on your own, like folding the laundry. At least, we’ve figured out how to cross off vacuuming and mopping from that list with robotic vacuums and mops. Speaking of which, one of the biggest names in the smart home cleaning space is launching its latest product to keep your home sparkling clean.
During IFA, Roborock introduced us to the Saros 20 Flow, its next-generation Saros 20 robot vacuum and mop. Roborock has now made the Saros 20 Flow available in the US, with Canada to follow sometime in October.
The Saros 20 line is known for its low clearance, and the Flow is no different. This robot vacuum stands only 8.98cm tall, allowing it to squeeze its way through low clearances, like your couch or other low-standing furniture. To slim down its profile even further, the navigation module, which is used for 360-degree scanning and mapping, can automatically retract when entering tight spaces. While in this mode, the vacuum switches to a 100-degree rear view for accurate cleaning.
As for its suction prowess, Roborock gave the robot a 36,000 Pa motor. The company says this suction system can lift the finest dust and has a 100% hair pickup rate. Thanks to its dual anti-tangle system, you also won’t have to worry about hair tangling up the brushes. Roborock also boasts that the Saros 20 Flow has a 15% higher pet hair pickup rate on hard floors than previous models.
Meanwhile, the Saros 20 Flow also features an improved high-density roller mop. This mop has been designed to reduce water spots by up to 30% compared to older models. Roborock has also implemented a pressurized self-cleaning system called SpiraFlow 2.0. This system distributes clean water from 16 different outlets, double the number of hydration points of previous generations. With that, plus the roller’s high-speed rotation of 240 RPM and up to 15N of downward mopping pressure, this robot can handle even the stickiest messes.
Something neat about the Saros 20 Flow is that its roller mop automatically adjusts when switching between carpets to hard floors. When changing to a carpet surface, the automatic roller shield lifts the roller mop up to 15 mm, preventing drips and keeping your carpet dry.
Just like small spaces aren’t an issue for this vacuum/mop, neither are corners. The Saros 20 Flow uses a reversible side brush to sweep debris out from the corner and into its path. Similarly, the robot uses its Edge-Adaptive Roller Mop, which extends up to 44mm, to more effectively scrub spaces just out of reach.
To provide the appropriate cleaning response, the Saros 20 Flow relies on AI. Through an RGB camera, the robot uses its AI to detect different stain types to adjust its strategy. For example, it may boost the suction power if it detects something hard to pick up, like coffee powder.
Another highlight is the all-in-one dock, meant to simplify maintenance. To sanitize, this dock sprays the roller mop with 212-degree clean water and blasts it with 145-degree hot air to prevent mold and bad odors. The dock is also capable of auto-refilling water and detergent, and automatically empties dust. Roborock claims this dock allows for up to 65 days of hands-free use.
The Saros 20 Flow is launching at a discounted price of $1,499.99. However, you’ll only have until September 20 to take advantage of this deal. After that date, the standard price will be $1,699.99. The Saros 20 Flow is available on Amazon and Roborock’s online store.
