The Pixel 11 Pro is a premium-priced device, coming in at a starting price of $1,100 for the base, non-XL model. But Google’s offering a freebie with its 11 Pro phones that can help take some of the sting out of that sticker price: six free months of Google AI Pro, a bonus that’d cost you almost $120 if you were to pay for it out of pocket. It’s not obvious how to get it, though. Here’s what Google AI Pro gets you, and how to claim your free six months on your Pixel 11 Pro.

What is Google AI Pro?

Google AI Pro is the second-highest paid Gemini tier, normally $19.99 per month. It sits between the $5 Google AI Plus plan and the $100 Google AI Ultra.

Naturally, Google AI Pro comes with a number of AI-related benefits, including higher Gemini usage limits (four times the limit on free accounts), as well as access to additional features like video generation (at five times the limit of the less expensive Google AI Plus).

Subscribers also get access to Google’s Jules coding agent, the Antigravity development platform, and higher limits on Gemini Notebook features like Audio Overviews.

Even if none of that means anything to you, there’s still good reason to check out the AI Pro subscription. In addition to its namesake AI features, the subscription includes access to Google Home Premium and YouTube Premium Lite. You also get a whopping five terabytes of cloud storage for all your photos and other files.

How to claim your six free months of Google AI Pro

Your Pixel 11 Pro won’t have you initiate your Google AI Pro trial during setup. It’s possible you’ll see the offer advertised when you open the Gemini app on your phone, but it doesn’t seem like that’s guaranteed, either.

To get your six months free, you may need to do a little digging. Here’s how to claim it.

  1. Open the Google One app on your Pixel 11 Pro.
  2. Tap the menu icon in the top left corner of screen.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Check for offers.
  5. Once the Google AI Pro offer appears, tap Start trial.

And that’s it! You’ve now got six months of Google AI Premium, a bonus worth about $120. According to the fine print, if you were already on a Google AI subscription when you signed up for your free six months, the trial will override it, and you’ll be refunded for the remainder of your paid service.

You’ll be charged $19.99 per month once the six months is up, so be sure to make a note of when your trial ends so you can decide whether the benefits are worth paying for. Also bear in mind that if you end up over your storage limit once the trial period ends, you won’t be able to store any additional data to your Google account — not in Drive, Docs, Photos, or anywhere else.

Google’s support documentation says the company will retain your data for at least two years, though, during which time you’ll be able to delete or download your files and images (or pay for additional storage to keep using Google’s services as normal).

The offer should be available for anyone with a Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, or Pixel 11 Pro Fold (sorry to everyone who has a vanilla Pixel 11). They’re still pricey phones, and this year’s free Gemini offer isn’t as good a deal as what Pixel 10 Pro and 9 Pro shoppers got — those phones each came with a full year of AI Pro. Still, if you’ll get use out of any of the features Google AI Pro offers, $120 worth of free service should help sweeten the pot.
