Google just made the Pixel 10a a much tougher sell
Oct 2, 2026 — 12:07 PM ET

- Google has quietly raised the Pixel 10a’s US price by $100, from $499 to $599.
- The hike appears to be broader, with prices also jumping in Canada and the UK compared to recent listings.
- With the Pixel 11a expected early next year, the more expensive Pixel 10a has suddenly become a much tougher sell.
It’s only been a few days since we got our first look at Google’s upcoming mid-range offering, and excitement surrounding the device is already at an all-time high. We’re expecting the Pixel 11a to sport a Tensor G6 chip, alongside changes to the camera module, a brighter screen, an upgraded selfie shooter, and a new purple colorway. The Pixel 11a isn’t due until February or March of next year, and now considering what Google just did to the Pixel 10a, waiting until next year for the Pixel 11a makes a lot more sense.
Google has quietly raised the price of the Pixel 10a by $100, taking the mid-range device’s price from $499 to $599.
It looks like the price hike isn’t limited to the US. A quick look at the Wayback Machine highlights that the Pixel 10a was available for $529 CAD (lower than its $679 CAD launch price) in Canada up until September 22, at the very least. The same device now costs $849 CAD on the Google Store in Canada.
Looking at page archives for the UK’s Google Store paints a similar picture. Up until September 17, at the very least, the Pixel 10a was listed for £429 (lower than its £499 launch price). The same device now costs £599 on the Google Store in the UK. That pattern suggests we may be looking at similar hikes across other regions too.
Note that the same price hike, for the US, has already made its way to Amazon and Best Buy. This comes after Google’s latest Pixel 11 series debut with a $100 price hike across the board.
Google hasn’t acknowledged the price hike just yet, though it’s easy to deduce that soaring component costs, specifically memory, could be the main reason behind it.
With a $100 price hike and the Pixel 11a starting to take shape, Google just made the Pixel 10a a much tougher sell.
