TL;DR
  • OnePlus is rolling out an Oxygen OS 13 beta to the OnePlus 10 Pro.
  • This new software is based on the upcoming Android 13.
  • You can expect plenty of bugs and problems with the software for now.

Over the past six months or so, Google has been openly testing Android 13 on Pixel phones. As of now, that software is pretty much ready to go. We’re just waiting on Google to announce a formal launch date.

Of course, that means other companies can start testing their own skins on top of Android 13. Today OnePlus joins those ranks as it rolls out the first open beta of Oxygen OS 13.

As expected, this open beta is only available for the company’s most recent flagship: the OnePlus 10 Pro. It will likely land on other phones — including last year’s OnePlus 9 series — in the coming weeks.

If you’re feeling adventurous (and live in North America or India), you can give Oxygen OS 13 a shot by following the installation instructions. However, you should expect a slew of bugs and other issues. In fact, OnePlus itself admits that several things are broken here, including blurry photos, camera crashes while filming a video, and a weird dot appearing when pairing over Bluetooth.

In similar news, OPPO is planning to roll out Color OS 13 sometime next week. The chances are high that Color OS 13 and Oxygen OS 13 will be nearly identical thanks to the companies becoming ever more the same.
