Last week’s poll summary: Out of over 14,100 total votes, 23.4% of voters said they own a Chromecast or other media streaming device, 22.2% own a smart speaker, and 13.1% own at least one smart lightbulb. Smart plugs and smart thermostats are popular too, garnering 11.3% and 9.8% of the votes, respectively. Just 6.7% of our readers don’t own any type of smart home device.

Google is already giving us access to the first Android P developer preview, even though Android Oreo still isn’t installed on many devices.

If you can recall, the latest Android version distribution numbers from February 2018 note that Android 8.0-8.1 Oreo is only installed on 1.1% of all Android devices. That number has definitely increased since Google released its report on February 5, though it probably hasn’t jumped up more than one or two percentage points.

But, before Google releases its numbers for April 2018, we should see the Oreo adoption rate rise even more. Samsung is expected to release Oreo for the Galaxy S8 and Note 8 this month, and LG, Motorola, and HTC are continuing to bring Android 8 to their device lineup.

It’s just a little odd to talk about a brand new version of Android when so few users have the previous version. So, we want to know — is your smartphone running Android Oreo yet, or are you still waiting? Cast your vote in the poll attached below, and sound off in the comments if there’s anything you’d like to add.
