OPPO Find X
TL;DR
  • OPPO will launch the Find X in India July 12.
  • The company did not say how much the phone would cost or when it will go on sale.
  • OPPO announced the Find X for Europe, China, and North America, but confirmed it will not launch in the U.S.

Even though the OPPO Find X will (sadly) not launch in the U.S., Oppo announced that India will be the phone’s newest home.

The company took to Twitter to announce that the Find X will launch in India July 12. OPPO also confirmed there will be a live-stream of the event, though it did not say when the launch event begins.

OPPO also did not say how much the Find X would cost in India, but expect a premium price tag for its premium components. The phone goes for 999 euros (~$1,173) in Europe, so expect a similar price tag in India.

The high price would be rare to see in the Indian smartphone market, where the average smartphone price is $157. The average price has gone up over time, however, and India is no stranger to ultra premium smartphones. Just look at the iPhone X, which features a price tag similar to that of the Find X and is available in India.

As a recap, the Find X features a 6.42-inch AMOLED display with 2,340 x 1,080 resolution, dual rear 16MP and 20MP sensors, 25MP selfie camera, Snapdragon 845, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, 3,730mAh battery, and Android 8.1 Oreo with ColorOS 5.1

Apart from its flagship specs, the Find X is known for its mechanical camera module that automatically raises and lowers when either the front or rear camera is in use. Because of all the hardware stuffed in that module, the Find X features a 93.8-percent screen-to-body ratio.

We will pay close attention to the Find X’s launch in India and fill in the missing pieces once OPPO makes the announcement.
