OnePlus held its OnePlus Open event this morning where it launched its first-ever foldable phone. While the device is not as expensive as the Galaxy Z Fold 5 or Pixel Fold, it’s still not exactly affordable. But you’ll be able to bring that price down a bit as the company is guaranteeing at least $200 off with any trade-in, in any condition.
It’s not uncommon for phone manufacturers to offer trade-in deals after launching a new phone. Google did the same after launching the Pixel 8 series, however, it’s not offering all that much for certain trade-ins. OnePlus’s deal is a little different, though.
How does this offer work?
According to the company, it will accept any phone for a trade-in and that device can be in any condition. In return, you’re guaranteed at least $200 in credit toward your purchase of an Open. It’s important to note that this deal only applies to one trade-in per purchase.
That’s a pretty decent deal if your phone is banged up and you otherwise would’ve gotten nothing for it. What makes this deal truly sweet, however, is that it’s not limited to any period of time. OnePlus says that the deal will remain available in perpetuity.
The OnePlus Open with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage sells for $1,699. Pre-orders start today and will arrive on shelves on October 26. You’ll be able to order one for yourself through OnePlus.com or through the company’s retail partners Amazon and BestBuy.
