One of the new OnePlus phones will be cheaper than 7 Pro but with 90Hz display
In a new interview with CNET, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau gives some interesting hints about the upcoming releases of (what we expect, anyway) the OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro.
According to Lau, at least one of the devices — likely the OnePlus 7T — will feature a 90Hz display refresh rate. This is a feature that appears on the OnePlus 7 Pro, and one of its best features to be sure.
Additionally, Lau also confirmed the phone in question will be cheaper than the OnePlus 7 Pro, which starts at $669.
From this, we can assume that Lau is referring to the OnePlus 7T, which will likely be an iterative upgrade over the OnePlus 7. The original OnePlus 7 did not have a 90Hz display refresh rate, although it already was cheaper than the OnePlus 7 Pro.
It’s possible the OnePlus 7T will retain the same price as the OnePlus 7 (or go just slightly higher) while adding in one of the killer features of the more expensive 7 Pro. That will surely make OnePlus fans happy.

However, the OnePlus 7 never saw a release in the United States, so it’s unlikely the OnePlus 7T will see a launch here, either. That could change, though.
The 90Hz display refresh rate and the cheaper price were the only two things Lau confirmed from the email interview. He did also mention, though, that the new devices will have an 800-series chipset, which likely means the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 or 855 Plus. He also mentioned the devices will launch “very soon,” likely by the end of this month.
