Update, April 19, 21:00 p.m. ET: The unlocked variant of the OnePlus 6T is now receiving a new OxygenOS update. The update takes the device to version 9.0.13 and features the March 2019 Android security patch as well as the usual bug fixes and improvements.

Unfortunately, this update is a bit disappointing for unlocked OnePlus 6T owners. It’s been over two months since the last update to the device, despite the fact that OnePlus promised more frequent updates than that. It also comes with an already-outdated security patch.

In addition, there are no other new features added through the update other than the addition of a bug report tool. This is despite the fact that the public beta versions of OxygenOS for the same device feature multiple new items. You can read some of OnePlus fans’ grievances surrounding the update at the official forum thread.

To update to the latest OxygenOS version, head to Settings > System > System updates on your unlocked OnePlus 6T.

OnePlus 6T update

  • Current stable version: Android Pie
  • When will the OnePlus 6T get Android Q? September 2019 – October 2019 (estimated)

The OnePlus 6T launched towards the end of 2018 with the latest version of Android, Android Pie. It’s expected to receive two major Android updates in the future.

Based on OnePlus’ recent updates, and the fact that the OnePlus 6T is a certified Android Q beta device, the phone is likely to receive the final version of Android Q shortly after it’s released. Google is expected to release Android Q sometime around this August.
