Open Beta 1’s changelog isn’t very extensive. That said, the update brings with it the December security patch and other goodies. You can read the changelog below to get a better idea of Open Beta 1:

  • System
    • Updated Android security patch to 2018.12
    • Added toast message when parallel apps are unavailable due to data corruption
  • Communication
    • Added call history for incoming calls from unknown numbers
    • Optimized UI for Spam messages and calls
  • OnePlus Switch
    • Now supports migrating data from iPhone

Keep in mind that the T-Mobile variant of the OnePlus 6T is not eligible for the Open Beta program — only the unlocked model is eligible. Those that have the unlocked model can click the button below to start the download and here to learn how to flash the software.

In related news, the OnePlus 5 and 5T received Open Beta 23 and 21, respectively. You can check out the changelog below to see what the Open Beta updates include:

  • System
    • Updated Android security patch to 2018.12
    • Fixed issues with custom accent color not getting applied every second try
    • Optimizations for Face Unlock
  • Launcher
    • Fixed UI issues with scroller in the app drawer
    • Improved color adaptation for the navigation bar

A commenter on OnePlus’ forums noted that the Open Beta updates also optimized navigation gestures, removed excessive padding on the left and right of the status bar, improved animations, and certified the devices for Play Store use. The updates also fixed an issue with Netflix randomly crashing.

The updates are the first ones since the OnePlus 5 and 5T received their Android 9 Pie beta updates. There’s still no word on when both phones will receive the stable build of Android 9 Pie.
