Update (01/09/18): As promised, the Sandstone White edition of the OnePlus 5T went on sale earlier today for $599. However, the OnePlus site currently shows that the Sandstone White version is out of stock, so you might want to wait a few days to see if they get any more units.
Original story (01/04/18): Every once in awhile, companies release new colors of existing phones to jumpstart sales a few months after launch. This is usually more of an obscure color like red or pink, which serves as a special option for more enthusiast buyers.
Now, following the launch of the OnePlus 5T Star Wars Edition, the company has released an all-new color option for its flagship 5T: sandstone white. While the standard 5T is housed in a slick aluminum black casing, the sandstone white model, as the name suggests, features a sandstone-like grit that is reminiscent of the company’s first smartphone, the OnePlus One.
The new model features a stark black logo and buttons to match, which contrast very well with the matte white chassis. In a way, this reminds me of a Stormtrooper. If you couldn’t get your hands on the Star Wars Edition 5T, you should definitely go with the Sandstone White model.

The iconic notification switch is a ripe, saturated red color, and it shows up extremely well against the black and white theme. These three colors in tandem reflect the company’s color scheme as a whole, since OnePlus uses red, white, and black in its logo and accessories.
For those in the US, UK, and Europe, you will be able to get your hands on this limited edition device for $559, £499, and €559 respectively through the company’s official website. Sales start Tuesday, Jan. 9 at 10 a.m. EST. The sandstone white OnePlus 5T is identical to the maxed-out midnight black OnePlus 5T in terms of specs, sporting a 6-inch AMOLED screen, dual-lens camera, Snapdragon 835, 128 GB of storage, and 8 GB of RAM.
