TL;DR
  • Reports suggest that LG will release five new devices in Korea next month.
  • The LG V35, Q7, Q7 Plus, X5, and X2 are tipped to launch, covering a range of price points.
  • Releasing the V35 only around a month after the G7 ThinQ could be an interesting move from LG.

LG is apparently going to release five new phones in June. Etnews reports that the unusual release schedule will see the company put out the LG V35, Q7, Q7 Plus, X5 (2018), and X2 (2018) in the space of a month in Korea. The devices would cover a variety of price points from the premium V35 down to the budget X2.

LG V35

The LG V35 is expected to be a premium device with specifications that rival the LG G7 ThinQ. Its launch would be an interesting move from LG, given that, even in Korea where the LG G7 ThinQ got an early release, there would only be around six weeks separating them by the end of June.

We’ve covered some early rumors about the V35 in a previous article but Etnews has offered a few extra details. It says that it expects the phone to have 6GB RAM, 64GB storage, an 8MP f/1.9 selfie camera, and a 3300mAh battery. It will apparently come in a color called “Aurora Black” and feature the AI camera and lens found on recent ThinQ branded devices such as the G7 ThinQ and the V30S ThinQ.

While there is no mention of an international release, a leak from earlier this year appeared to show V35 marketing materials in English. That would suggest LG is planning to release the V35 in other countries.

It should be noted that while previous rumors have called the V35 the V35 ThinQ, Etnews did not.

LG Q7 and Q7 Plus

The LG Q7 and Q7 Plus have already been officially revealed by LG. They are mid-range devices and we have a full write up on them hereEtnews added that it expects the devices to cost around 400,000 to 500,000 won (about $370.54 to $463.18) in Korea. According to LG, the Q7 will launch in Europe next month and in the Americas and Asia after.

LG X5 and X2

The final two devices mentioned in the article are the X5 (2018) and the X2 (2018). The X5, not to be confused with the 2016 device of the same name, is expected to come with a 5.5-inch HD display, MediaTek MT6750 chipset, 13MP rear camera, 3MP selfie camera, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a fingerprint sensor. The X5’s standout feature is expected to be its fairly huge 4500mAh battery which can be charged via fast charging. Etnews say it will cost around 300,000 won ($277.91).

The X2 is thought to be a low-end device. The article says it will have a 5-inch HD screen, Snapdragon 425 chipset, 13MP camera, 5MP front camera, 2GB RAM, 32B storage, a 2410mAh battery, and a fingerprint sensor. Etnews says it will cost around 200,000 won ($185.17).

Should this report be accurate, then June would appear to be an incredibly busy month for LG.
